Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate Injection: Dexamethasone is applied in the management of inflammatory conditions like allergic disorders and skin diseases. It is also prescribed for the management of ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, and breathing disorders. In addition, it is indicated for the management of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in adult and adolescent patients (12 years of age and older with a minimum body weight of 40 kg) who need supplemental oxygen therapy.

Dexamethasone contains dexamethasone, which belongs to a class of drugs known as glucocorticoids. Dexamethasone functions by inhibiting the release of chemicals causing inflammation. 

Dexamethasone must be used according to the doctor’s prescriptions. There can be side effects like weight gain, indigestion, headache, dizziness, rash, water retention (swelling in your ankles or hands), insomnia, mild mood disturbances, and nausea.
